Please prayerfully consider the Ministries to which you feel called
of God. Each person has been given gifts and talents by our Creator and we
share them now as we have promised. You may select an interest in a work
area, and need training which can be provided!
Complete the "LUMC
Opportunities 2007 form" and information will be shared with the appropriate
ministry team and you will be called as needed in your work areas.
- Evangelism and Outreach
- Team Member for Sharing the Good News and event planning
- Head Usher (organizational skill)
- Work on a GROW Team once a month (God Rewards our Witness outreach
program)
- Publicity within the church
- Publicity in the community
- Usher for Services
- Facilitate Greeting Ministry
- Serve as a greeter
- Creating brochures for church and ministry offerings

- Deliver worship videotapes to the homebound or ill

- Educational Emphasis

- Functional Ministries
These ministries help keep us up and running, fit for
the Kingdom
- Assist with the upkeep of the flower beds, potted plants, and other
grounds activities
- Supply and stock pews
- Operate sound systems
- Obtain a CDL and drive the church bus when available
- Office assistant when the church secretary needs help for special
projects, days off, etc.
- Capable of doing minor repairs at church owned properties
- Financial Assistant; to count offerings and prepare deposits
- Family Night Suppers; will help setup or cook or take down at intervals
(many are needed to disperse this responsibility)
- Create side shows for projector for worship and events, coordinated with
the Pastor
- Gifted in Stewardship or Capital Funds management

- Mission Service
Much of the power of Christ is gained through service
- Serve on a work team for mission projects
- Travel and work with a mission team on out of town trips, such as UMCOR
distribution center or Mississippi Trip
- Participate in a United Methodist Women's Circle
- Volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center on our Campus
- Cook in the Friendship Kitchen (our version of meals on wheels)
- Deliver meals for Friendship Kitchen (route information detailed)
- Attend the United Methodist Men's monthly breakfast

- Volunteer Bank
The volunteer bank is a new opportunity to be "on
call" with your special gifts. You indicate your area of willingness,
and are called upon only as the need arises
- Carpenter's Club: have skills that can be shared in times of need, ie.
installing shower bars, building ramps, making minor repairs for the
homebound or others who need a little help
- Rocking Ministry: would donate a few hours here and there to help
parents of infants get time to go to a Dr. appointment, the store, etc.
- Sunshine Society: would visit with or under the supervision of the
Parish Nurse or Pastor to someone who was in need of some company; may take
some flowers or other small treat
- Helping Hands: would come if available when there was a need for a
special project at church and help out
- Medically Minded: have special training in the medical field that allows
you to periodically assist with Health Ministry events or needs of the
infirm
- Gardener's Gift: would go to the home of an elderly or disabled person
and help with their flower beds, shrubs, etc.
- Venue Value: have a special feature at home that you could share with an
age group or class for a special outing, such as a farm, a boat, a great
yard for play, space for bonfire or hayride, a game room, pool, lake swim,
etc.
